My new single "So Easy" is out now! I wrote this song back at the end of 2016 most probably under the influence of Seasonal Affective Disorder. The lyrics were written around the woozy period between Christmas Day and New Year with references to Jools' Holland's Hootenanny, (that's a New Year's Eve annual musical show for non-UK readers), and the hand-holding Scottish festive favourite "Auld Lang's Syne". It's a moody number, ("So Easy', not "Auld Lang's Syne), which is much ameliorated by my talented brother Paul Taylor's spectral keyboard accompaniment. "So Easy" was produced at the Recovery College in Newcastle upon Tyne by Mark Wood. You can buy it through the link below or stream it on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and many other streaming platforms. I hope you enjoy, I'm looking forward to announcing more new music through the course of 2025.

I'll be playing a summery, chilled acoustic set of Latin, folk and pop originals at The Last Resort in Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne on Sunday 13rd July. Music from 2p.m, free entry, would be great to see some friendly faces there if you live nearby

"Funded by Help Musicians this e.p is his most ambitious yet and provides a rollercoaster of musical influences from rock to folk and 70's music, all harnessed through Simon's soulful and warm vocal tones"

Thank you to everyone who came to watch myself and my good friend Lesley Roley perform at my "Northern Star" e.p launch night earlier this month. Also to Katie Lock for this photo from the night, it was a lovely one!

I had a most positive start to 2025 when the British Library Sound Archive kindly accepted my request to update my back catalogue in their collection. This was following the amazing news back in 2022 that they wanted me to send over all my recorded music thus far for storage in their vast, comprehensive collection of sound recordings from around the world. I have therefore sent over everything that I am honoured for them to have in their possession. The above photo represents pretty much the complete collection of all the c.ds I have released, recorded and been a part of so far. These include ultra-rare one-copy c.d's, which I dug out and in some cases re-discovered recently while working on recent projects. Many thanks to the British Library Sound Archive for this honour.
